Extraction is usually the last option considered, recommended only after a dentist has ruled out a crown, root canal, or other restorative fix. A tooth that's intact and accessible is typically a simple extraction; one that's fractured, impacted, or below the gum requires a surgical approach.
Most extractions are done comfortably under local anesthesia alone, though sedation is offered when the case is more complex. Aftercare instructions focus on protecting the blood clot that forms in the socket, since disturbing it can lead to a painful complication called dry socket.
Delaying a decision on replacement isn't necessarily a problem, though your provider will flag if drift risk makes it worth doing sooner. Socket preservation at the time of extraction is a small step now that keeps more options open later.
No separate referral needed for more complex surgical extractions in most cases.
Nitrous oxide or oral sedation is available for patients nervous about the procedure.
Urgent extractions are prioritized rather than scheduled weeks out.
You leave with specific instructions on diet, rinsing, and activity to protect the healing socket.
Whatever the specifics of your case, the specialist you reach through us has handled it before.
For teeth fully visible above the gumline, removed with local anesthesia in a routine visit.
Handles more complicated cases where the tooth can't simply be lifted out whole.
Removes a tooth too decayed to support a filling or crown, stopping the decay from spreading further.
Often paired with a broader periodontal treatment plan for remaining teeth.
Removes specific teeth to create space needed before braces or aligner treatment begins.
Recommended when you plan to replace the extracted tooth with an implant later on.
You describe what's going on; no automated menu, no long hold.

"Explained every step before doing anything. First time a dental visit didn't feel rushed."
"Didn't have to wait weeks like my old dentist. Straight to a specialist who knew exactly what to do."
"No upsells, no pressure. Just the treatment I needed at the price I was told."
Local anesthesia numbs the area fully before extraction, so the procedure itself shouldn't hurt.
Simple extractions typically heal within a week; surgical extractions may take a bit longer.
Dry socket happens when the healing blood clot dislodges too early — avoiding straws and smoking helps prevent it.
Not always, but leaving a gap too long can let neighboring teeth shift — your provider will discuss options.
If the tooth is actively causing problems, same-day extraction is typically prioritized.
Cost depends on whether it's a simple or surgical extraction, confirmed for you before the visit.
